What to bring:

We recommend you wear/bring along all the gear as listed below, depending on the kayak trip you’re taking. There are a few different lists for the different trips:

Māori Carvings, Full Day, Wilderness, Fishing and Ultimate Escape Trips

You bring:

We provide:

  • Water Bottle
  • Comfortable clothing to paddle in – NO jeans
  • Sandals / aqua shoes, or footwear that can get wet
  • Sun glasses
  • Sun Hat
  • Sun block / insect repellent
  • Camera

Summer Months:

  • Swimwear and Towel
  • Plastic (shopping) bag for wet gear after swim

Winter Months:

  • Fleece / Warm Hat
  • Thermal or fleece tops
  • Paddle jacket
  • Life jacket (buoyancy vest)
  • Spray skirt / deck
  • Pogies (paddling gloves)
  • Dry bags for clothing / camera
  • Double Kayaks / paddles
  • Group safety and emergency gear
  • First Aid kit

Note:

Maori Carvings and Full Day Trip: A spare change of clothing is not necessary, as we do not take them on our trips.

Ultimate Escape
For the Boat trip a warm set of clothing (trousers/ track pants, jacket, fleece top, etc).

Float and Squeeze Trips

You bring:

We provide:

  • Water Bottle
  • Comfortable clothing to paddle in including togs – NO jeans
  • Sandals / aqua shoes, or footwear that can get wet
  • Sun glasses
  • Sun Hat
  • Sun block / insect repellent
  • Camera
  • Towel
  • Plastic (shopping) bag for wet gear after swim
  • Spare change of cloths to sit in vehicle after trip

Winter Months:

  • Running Shoes
